Abstract
High heterogeneity and biodiversity of genetic profiles of four groups of bacteria in bacterioplankton of the ponds contaminated by mineral nitrogen, and also in the section of the Ros River near the Belaya Tserkov Experimental Hydrobiological Station of the Institute of Hydrobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (the town of Belaya Tserkov), were revealed using the PCR-DGGE techniques. The groups Cytophaga-Flavobacterium (51) and β-Proteobacteria (50) were characterized by the largest number of rDNA sequences. A high contribution of sequences (especially in the β-Proteobacteria group) common to bacterioplankton of all the studied water bodies is indicative of a high plasticity of their metabolism, and also of their capability to adapt to various conditions of their occurrence and to the content of mineral nitrogen in the water of 0.29−1349.0 mg N/L.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
