Abstract

Abstract The substituent constants of alkyl groups in alkylbenzenes have been determined for dilute solutions in carbon tetrachloride. Especially for compounds with isolated substituents the constants derived satisfactorily correlate the chemical shifts of the ring protons with the substitution type.
