Abstract

IntroductionThe operative treatment of acromioclavicular joint dislocations with complete coracoclavicular ligament disruption has been challenging. The goal is to restore the acromioclavicular joint to its anatomical position and to reconstruct the coracoclavicular ligaments, thereby restoring the normal clavicular strut between the axial and appendicular skeleton. Historically, operative techniques have had an unacceptably high failure rate.
