This paper presents a new method for measuring the equivalent circuit elements of a piezo-resonator. This method is based on the fact that the sum of the squares of the difference between the input free admittance and the calculated admittance can be minimized by the method of the least squares. This new method is applicable even for resonators with low mechanical Q and small figure of merit M in which the plot of admittance Y i against conductance G and susceptance B is distorted.
