Abstract

Distance measurement error will bring on localization error in wireless sensor networks. The localization will be accurate only when the localization error was less the localization tolerance. The distance measurement accuracy affects the localization correct rate. In order to analyze the relation between distance measurement error and localization error in wireless sensor networks, a simulation algorithm was designed. First, referencing nods and blind nodes were set up. Then the measurement error was brought into algorithm manually and trip-edge measurement method was used to calculate the localization. In the end, the localization error was calculated and the localization correct rate was counted. The conclusion is that in some localization accuracy coefficient, the localization error in wireless sensor networks is nonlinear with the distance measurement error. When the distance measurement error is less than 0.01% with localization accuracy coefficient 0.001, the localization correct rate is more than 98.3%.
