Abstract
Although not a revolution in the area of classical polycondensation, many new ideas for this area can be expected to result from the work of Yokozawa and Suzuki described here. By skillful use of the ideas of phase-transfer catalysis they have succeeded in controlling the molar mass, the molar mass distribution, and the polymer end groups.
