Abstract
The photorefractive effect is observed in strongly unipolar SBN crystals in the absence of the external bias field. The formation of a photorefractive space-charge field Esc is due to the existence of the internal inhomogenous field in the bulk of the crystals. Simultaneously the photomemory effect is observed which is characteristic of the inhomogenous photoconductors.
