Abstract
The pyroelectric figures of merit p/ε, p/ε1/2 and p/(ε tan δ)1/2 are obtained from the measured data for triglycine sulfate (TGS) pyroelectric detectors and the results are compared with the predictions obtained for the thermo-dynamic theory and the two-level theory. When one considers the simplifying assumptions made in the two theories, the partial agreement is gratifying and the discrepancies are understandable.
