Abstract
A approach for estimation of information potential can be based on Shannon's information theory. In information theory, the entropy is a measure of the average uncertainty in the random variable. Because of information signal transmitted by communication channels is random, information potential can be determined by entropy. So we can suppose that entropy is unit of measurement for information potential.
