Abstract
Final crop emergence was measured in a three crop rotation for three tillage systems over five crop years. The crops were corn, dry edible beans, and sugarbeets and the tillage systems were conventional tillage with the moldboard plow, rotary strip tillage, and minimum till. When combined over all years, there were statistically significant differences in final emergence between tillage systems for corn and dry edible beans but not for sugarbeets. Rotary tillage provided a higher final emergence for corn than the other two tillage systems. Minimum tillage resulted in a lower emergence for dry edible beans than rotary tillage or conventional tillage.
