Because she is a virgin and seems to play a pivotal role in the 'Tale of the Sankgreal,' scholars have been reluctant to recognize Percival's sister as a commodity in the sexual economy of Malory's text. This essay suggests Percival's sister is trafficked, to several different parties, to create bonds among kinship groups.
