Decimet Baryons as "Elementary Particles"

G. Rajasekaran

Open publisher page 2 citations

Abstract

Models which regard the decimet ${B}^{*}$ as a composite of the octet baryons and octet pseudoscalar mesons usually give excessively large $\mathrm{SU}(3)$ violations for the ${B}^{*}$ because of the large mass differences within the baryon octet and meson octet. A model with ${B}^{*}$ as an elementary particle is constructed, and it is shown that in this model this difficulty can be resolved.
