Abstract

Laser performances for typical Yb-doped laser material of Yb:YAG is presented, especially for pulsed energy-storage operation mode. Based on criterion of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE), we present the optimum gain medium parameters for a 100 J-class diode-pumped solid-state laser based on Yb:YAG material.
