Abstract
Vaseline petroleum jelly applied to the substrate was found to be the most effective of five lubricants tested in reducing asexual reproduction (fission) in the planarian flatworm Dugesia tigrina (Girard). Planarians which did not bud attained a much greater size than untreated controls.
