Abstract
Equations are derived for calculating the oscillating air pressures within a cylindrical chamber containing a sinusoidally driven circular piston in one end wall. Some numerical results are presented for a flat piston. Experimental data obtained within a cylinder using a loudspeaker source are compared with theory. Good agreement is shown for the frequencies studied that were not close to the structural frequencies of the cylinder.
