Abstract

Summary The pathology of trichiasis and cicatricial entropion occurring during the course of trachoma has been described. The general principles underlying operative treatment of the above conditions have been discussed. Based on experience gained at the British Ophthalmic Hospital, Jerusalem, the detailed technique of the operations of Van Millingen, Spencer‐Watson and Snellen has been described. The immediate results showed that the operations were effective, recurrences being due to neglected treatment of the trachoma.
