Abstract
A greenhouse experiment was conducted to determine if soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] plant reaction to Phialophora gregata Allington and Chamberlain (W. Gams) (Pg) is independent of a previous resistant reaction to Phytophthora megasperma Drechs. f. sp. glycinea Kuan and Erwin (Pmg). Reaction to Pg was independent of the previous reaction to Pmg. These results suggest that soybean plants can be sequentially screened for resistance to both Pmg and Pg without an interaction.
