Abstract

The mass flow in adsorbed layers of helium has been measured. Superfluidity occurs at all temperatures below the $\ensuremath{\lambda}$-temperature of the bulk liquid down to 1\textonehalf{} statistical layers. The bearings of these results on the thermodynamics of transition HeI---HeII in adsorbed layers is discussed.
