Abstract

The reaction of Fe2O3/ZnO powder mixture to prepare zinc ferrite in a nitrogen flow stream was investigated by an X‐ray diffraction method. Experimental results indicated that the reaction rate could be increased by an increase in density of solid sample or reaction temperature. The rate was also found to be increased by reducing the grain size of zinc oxide or iron oxide and the molar ratio of Fe2O3/ZnO.
