Abstract

Abstract In this test, some physical and chemical characters for Na 3 AlF 6 ‐K 3 AlF 6 ‐AlF 3 low temperature electrolyte system were researched, which including liquidus temperature, density, and the solubility of aluminium etc, and the effect of additives on above physical and chemical characters was particularly studied. Experiment results show, in containing elpasolite system, adding LiF could reduce liquidus temperature. The difference of density between containing elpasolite system and aluminium liquid is above 20%, and after adding additives such as LiF and Al 2 O 3 , the difference of density would increase. Because adding LiF and Al 2 O 3 could dissolve more aluminium, additive should be properly added, and choose some electrolytes which liquidus temperature are lower, in order to decrease aluminium volatilization, and availably control the soluble loss of aluminium.
