Abstract
In a particular frame moving at the electron velocity along the axial direction, photon statistics and squeezing properties are discussed for a wiggler-free free-electron laser under the weak-coupling and small electron-recoil limits. It is shown that a wiggler-free free-electron laser is more powerful than a wiggler-pumped free-electron laser for conventional experimental parameters.
