Abstract
West Pomerania Region is the area west from Koszalin and north from Bydgoszcz-Szczecin where deformed but non-folded Devonian and Carboniferous strata occur in the subsurface of Permian-Mesozoic cover. The Devonian Carboniferous formation with its generally oil-prone (Devonian) and gas-prone (Carboniferous) source rocks, carbonate and sand reservoirs is perspective petroleum formation. The Pre-Zechstein unconformity surface is of primary importance for delimiting the sealing conditions for gas accumulated in Carboniferous and Rotliegendes sandstones.
