Abstract

Abstract The male genitalia are described and figured for Dieuches maculicollis (Walker), D. notatus (Dallas), Elasmolomus papuanus (Distant), E. terminalis Scudder and Eyles, E. v‐album (Stå1), Narbo biplagiatus (Walker), Poeantius australopictus Gross and Scudder, and Quiobbesus australis (Distant). Taxonomically important characters are discussed. A key to the genera and species based on male genitalia is provided. A denticulate area, found on the parameres of all species, is thought to provide a frictional surface when the male grasps the female's ovipositor during copulation.
