Abstract
An extension of the method of Crampin and Hoyle has been used to compare the angular momentum distributions of several mass models of the galactic system with the angular momentum distributi of a homogeneous, uniformly rotating spheroid. The calculations indicate fairly good agreement in the outer parts of the models, but a gradually increasing difference appears with decreasing distance from the model centers. Possible reasons for this divergence are suggested.
