Abstract
This paper aims to investigate the fuel surcharge models that can be applied to the trucking industry in Korea. A fuel surcharge model is considered to compensate transportation costs as oil prices change. Unlike the ocean and air transportation industry, the fuel surcharge models in trucking companies have not yet been fully generalized. This results in strikes by the transportation service suppliers when oil prices increase rapidly. Therefore, this paper suggests a couple of fuel surcharge models to be used in the trucking industry in Korea.
