Abstract

This paper discusses the experimental validity of a frequently assumed fact: in a highly anisotropic scattering medium considered as infinite, a collimated intensity-modulated beam source can be modelled by a point-like source located on the emissive axis, at one time the mean transport length from the source fibre tip.
