Abstract

According to Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water in China (GB3838-2002), we used the 2006-2007 monitoring data to evaluate and characterize the water quality condition of a landscape river in Tianjin based on the comprehensive index methods such as Nemerow Index and single-factor assessment. The results are obtained as follows: (1) The water quality of M River belongs to class V water body; (2) The main pollutants of M River are chloride, NH3-N and CODMn; (3) From upstream to downstream, the degree of water pollution increases gradually; (4) The most polluted cross-section in every water period is 8 and 9, which is at the downstream of the river.
