Abstract

A new type of a diamond crystal habit is obtained by the recrystallization in the formation of which tetragontrioctahedral faces {311} play a major role. At appropriate conditions the forms {111}, {110}, {311} are equideveleoped. When temperature rises an advantageous development of octahedral faces occurs. An increase of the mass transfer rate results in the same effect. The decisive factor in the new habit type formation is the nitrogen content in a growth system
