THE EFFECT OF METHOTREXATE, CORTICOSTEROIDS AND AZATHIOPRINE ON FINGERNAIL GROWTH IN PSORIASIS

Abstract

SUMMARY.– Fingernail growth has been studied in psoriatic subjects receiving systemic therapy with methotrexate, azathioprine and corticosteroids. Greatest suppression of growth was found with methotrexate whilst, a significant though less marked decrease was seen in the azathioprine treated group; corticosteroids appeared to have no effect.
