Abstract
To the Editor. —Bausch and Lomb Inc., are soon to release their hydrophilic contact lens, known as SOFLENS, on the market. I have been working with these lenses for the last year and have been fitting them on selected patients since July 1968. As there is little information yet available on this new lens, which is very different from the conventional corneal contact lens, I would like to inform all ophthalmologists at this time about certain important aspects that should be known in case a patient wearing the Soflens seeks assistance. There are a number of college students who have been fitted with this lens who are now scattered around the country, so that any ophthalmologist may be called upon to see these patients. Each patient has been provided with an instruction book, Little Book for Wearers of Soflens Contact Lenses, which will provide useful and basic information. The
