Abstract

Johnson's suggestion that the value of R = A v/EB_v is higher between galactic longitudes 1000 and 2300 than at other longitudes is tested by the galactic rotation of classical Cepheids. Our results indicate that, in general, R is not significantly different in this particular longitude range compared with other longitudes
