Research on the Coupling Coordinative Degree of Environment and Economy in Chongqing

This paper calculated the development level of economy and environment in Chongqing with the relevant statistical data of Chongqing from 1997 to 2011, and analyzed the coordination degree of economy and environment. According to the result of the study, the development level of the economy in Chongqing had been improving continually, and the composite index was up from 0.761 in 1997 to 0.945 in 2011. The development level of environment appeared the trend of up-down-up, and the composite index was up from 0.682 in 1997 to 0.971 in 2011. In all, the coordination degree of economy and environment has been improving unceasingly.
