Abstract

The multiplicity dependence of the mass of φ mesons was studied for central Si+Au collisions. It was found that the mass of φ mesons for the events with the highest multiplicity (top 2% of the interaction cross-section) dropped 2.3 ± 0.9 MeV compared to the mass of normal φ-meson. The momentum dependence of the φ-meson mass is also studied. A preliminary analysis of possible experimental contributions to this effect is presented.
