Abstract

Correlations between elemental and isotopic ratios of noble gases in mineral separates of Allende are not consistent with the reported identification of a noble gas component trapped in ‘Q’ with 136Xe/132Xe = 0.310 and 20Ne/132/Xe = 10 ± 4. If Q trapped a noble gas component with 136Xe/132Xe = 0.310, then the correlations indicate that there was no Ne in this gas component. If Q trapped a noble gas component with 20Ne/132Xe = 10 ± 4, then the correlations indicate that Q contains no fission Xe.
