Abstract

DATA ARCHITECTURE FOCUSES on capturing and understanding the data contained in the various systems and databases that the enterprise has implemented over the past several decades. It also focuses on how data is currently being used by the enterprise and helps identify the additional data, information, and knowledge needs of the enterprise. An effective data architecture enables: Data to be used more efficiently and effectively within the enterprise Better integration of data to get an overall understanding of the enterprise and how well it is performing Better integration of the enterprise with its customers, suppliers, and business partners
