Abstract

The author utilizes model of regional gravity center, calculates consumption gravity center and economic gravity center of Xinjiang during 1965-2009 and obtains dynamic transition curve. Values of spatial means for consumption level were plotted on the map with the help of Geographic Information System (GIS) of prefecture level data of Xinjiang. Some conclusions could be drawn as follows: the moving direction of consumption gravity center is coincident with that of economic gravity center, which is from southwest to northeast. Then the governments try to boost consumption is a driving factors of economic development of Xinjiang.
