Abstract
A clinical trial of a new intravenous cholecystographic medium, Biligrafin, is recorded. 120 unselected cases were examined with the drug, and the results compared with 100 similar cases examined by oral Telepaque. The results show that Biligrafin is of low toxicity and produces diagnostic results superior to those recorded with any oral medium. Cholangiography, as well as cholecystography, was possible in almost all cases where Biligrafin was used. Biligrafin proved of no diagnostic value in 10 cases with clinical or sub-clinical jaundice. This new intravenous medium undoubtedly represents a major advance in radiology of the biliary tract.
