Abstract
Abstract The amorphization of the spin‐1 transverse Ising model on a square lattice is studied within the effective field theory. The total longitudinal and transverse magnetizations, and quadrupolar moments are obtained. A number of interesting phenomena is found in these quantities, due to the fluctuation of exchange interactions and the applied transverse field.
