Abstract

Abstract Langmuir probe measurements in argon flowing afterglow are presented together with probe data analyses. The charged particles density is evaluated from the electron probe current at the space potential and from the saturated positive ion current. The latter is analysed using the method by Zakrzewski and Kopiczynski [15, 16] and both results are compared against each other. A satisfactory agreement almost within the estimated experimental error range suggests that the method [15, 16] brings a reasonable description of a positive ion collection by a Langmuir probe.
