Effect of Local Corticosteroids on Psoriasis

Biopsy sections of psoriatic plaques that had been treated with intralesional triamcinolone acetonide or topical fluocinolone acetonide and occlusive dressings were examined for histopathological changes. The findings were discussed, and a site of action of the steroids is proposed. The possible complications of local steroid therapy have been enumerated.
