Abstract
Ocean data have important characteristics of multi-dimension, heterogeneity, magnanimity and high security. Efficient organization and management of ocean data is the strong support of building practical ocean applications. Current research on ocean data management platform mostly focuses on a certain kind of ocean data, and their functions are limited and lack of systematization. This paper proposes an architecture of ocean data management platform which aims to the features of ocean data and application requirements. Moreover, solutions to some key problems, such as sharing and exchange of ocean information, construction of ocean metadata and the ocean data security protection are elaborated. In the end, an implementation of the software platform for management of multidimensional, heterogeneous and mass ocean data is given.
