Abstract
Irradiation of a thin liquid-film of o-bisiodoethynylbenzene (I) produces insoluble material, and, in addition, a small amount of a tetraiodonaphthalene. Irradiation of a benzene solution of (I) produces o-bisphenylethynyl benzene (II), and small quantities of a number of substituted naphthalenes.
