Abstract
Abstract Four experiments were carried out in the field and in the storage to study the susceptibility of 12 potato varieties to insects infestation, potato tuber worm Phthorimaea operculella Zell., tomato white fly Bemisia tabaci Genn., potato leafhopper Empoasca fabae Harris, onion thrips, Thrips tabaci Lind., and green peach aphid Myzus persicae Sulzer. Claudia variety ‐was the least susceptible to potato tuber worm infestation followed by Alpha A. Seinge was the more susceptible variety. There were no significant differences between the tested varieties in the degree of infestation by white fly. Alpha A; Alpha E, Alpha B, Claudia and Seinge were less susceptible to the potato leaf hopper infestation while Perviosnic and King Edward were the more susceptible varieties. Alpha A and Seinge were significantly less susceptible to the green peach aphid wihle Gevont and Aran Banner were more susceptible. The three Alpha varieties proved to be the less susceptible varieties to onion thrips infestation, while Perviosnic, King Edward and Patrones were the most susceptible varieties. Zusammenfassung Studien über Kartoffelschädlinge in U.A.R. II.
