Abstract

Experimental data are presented for both the resistive and reactive parts of the radiation loading of a rigid piston source vibrating in a finite circular baffle, as a function of the size of the baffle. A qualitative explanation is given in terms of the direct radiated wave and the diffracted wave arising from the edge of the baffle.
