Abstract

A Ti: LiNbO3 Δβ reversal directional coupler switch with built-in optical bias is demonstrated. Optical bias is introduced by alternating the width of coupled waveguides. Drive voltages can be reduced without significant degradation of loss and crosstalk characteristics.
