Abstract
In an attempt to apply water hyacinth as a low cost treatment system for phenol, experimental runs on a continuous unit were performed. The removal efficiency was correlated with influencing parameters, such as water hyacinth concentration, organic loading and hydraulic loading. The correlation offered a simple tool for the optional design of a water hyacinth system for phenol on an industrial scale.
