Empirical analysis on the effects of logistics industry on economic growth in Jiangsu Province

Abstract

The logistics industry is closely related with the growth of national economy. After analyzing the relationship between the logistics industry and the economic growth in Jiangsu Province, this paper establishes a model of logistics and economic growth, with cargo turnover expressing the logistic performance and gross domestic product (GDP) representing the development level of national economy in Jiangsu Province. The stability analysis of this model indicates that the logistics industry in Jiangsu Province has made continuous contributions to economic development in this region in the past 20 years. Hence the paper concludes that such stability is significant to the development of logistics industry in Jiangsu Province.
