Abstract
The original ‘Ptychodesma nilssoni’ (Hisinger) is referred to the new taxon Fylgia baltica. The systematic position of Fylgia baltica is uncertain since it displays characteristics diagnostic of both Myalinidae and Cyrtodontidae, possibly being an intermediate form between the two groups. It is suggested that Fylgia baltica was a non-byssate, semi-infaunal burrowing filter-feeder.
