Abstract

Summary Tarmat problems, which are present in many oil reservoirs, were investigated in a series of papers. Tarmat behavior under water injection by an injector away from faults was presented in the first study, and the second study treated the case of a water injection under tarmat by an injector near a single fault. This paper investigates the case where an injector near two intersecting faults is used and resulted in a technique that can be used, both analytically and graphically, to predict the behavior of tarmat anywhere in the reservoir. It was found that the effect of both faults lessens and becomes more linear with increasing distance of the injector from the two faults. Also, a set of equations is presented to predict the response time (after tarmat breakdown) at any observation well in the reservoir.
