On the behavior to the force of gravity of Oncomelania nosophora, the intermediate host of Schistosoma japonicum, only a few works were available. Kawamoto (1954) stated that the geotaxis of O. nosophora is negative in the air as well as in water, and this negative geotaxis is so strong that it can be seen even on the plane at an angle of inclination of only 2°. In our previous paper (Komiya & Yasuraoka, 1954) the behavior of O. nosophora submerged in water was observed. The following, experiments were conducted to know the behavior to gravity of O. nosophora when placed on the plane at different angles of inclination.
